how to kill your product by stéphanie musat

Killing features is part of the product life cycle. But how do you assess when it's time to say "goodbye" and make room for new opportunities? That's what Stephanie Musat, Staff Product Manager @HBO Max, will be talking about.

The main key learnings :

  • Remove emotion. It’s not personal, it’s business. Focus on your users, not your opinions
  • Audit while adding new things. Every time you consider adding something, ask yourself if you can remove something first.
  • Normalize the process. Removing products should be standard procedure, and baked into the process.
  • Take a step back. Know how to say "goodbye, acknowledge the decisions, and share your learnings so you don’t make the same mistakes.
